Introduction

At Opinions we take every measure Your Data Privacy Respondent and Research Participants Data is important to us in the execution of our business, so we will always ensure that we treat this data with care. Aside from the legal requirement to do so and the GDPR, ESOMAR, AIMRO and other guidance we adhere to, all of our staff have been trained on Data Protection and Privacy. .

 

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalised have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

 

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

 

Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service such as our online survey panel.

Panel Member is any individual who is a member of our online survey community.

Respondent is an individual who completes a survey conducted by us and in doing so shares information by way of their responses to survey questions and other information.

 

Service refers to the Website, Research Panel or Research Participation.

 

Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.

 

Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).

We collect information and Personal Data in the course of Our general business operations related to market research, business consulting and associated activities.

What type of data do We collect?

While using or engaging with Our Service, we may ask You to provide us with certain personally identifiable information (Personal Data) that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable Personal Data information may include, but is not limited to:

We collect the Personal Data you provide in the context of a survey or other research approaches. When You participate in our research, we may ask You for Your  personal opinions, as well as demographic information, such as Your age and household composition.

You may refuse to answer certain questions or discontinue participation in a study at any time. Where required by law, we obtain your explicit consent to the processing of your sensitive Personal Data.

When Opinions conducts online or other research, our invitations, questionnaires, and other contacts with Data Subjects clearly identify us and explain the purpose(s) of our contact. When we contact You, we generally do so for one of the following purposes:

 

To invite You to participate in the survey research (including surveys, polls, focus groups etc).

To conduct a research interview with You.

To validate answers, you gave in a recent survey we conducted.

To complete quality checks on the data collected from You/ Verify responses.

To ensure that our records of Your personal information are correct.

To send You updates about the community.

Occasionally, we may contact You for one of these other purposes:

 

To notify You if You have won a prize draw that we sponsored (if a relevant incentive).

If You join our online research panel, you may rescind your membership at any time by following the opt-out instructions that we include in every e-mail that we send. We never knowingly invite children under the age of 16 to participate in research studies without taking measures to ensure appropriate parental consent.

To contact You by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, such as a mobile application's push notifications regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities or contracted services, including security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation. You will not receive unsolicited contact to which you have not agreed.

 

To Manage Your Requests:

To attend and manage Your requests to Us. For other purposes: we may use Your information for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional activity and to evaluate and improve our, services, marketing, and your user experience.

 

We may share Your personal information in the following situations:

 

With Service Providers:

We may share Your personal information with Service Providers to monitor and analyse the use of our Service, to contact You.

Confidentiality of survey responses and contact information.

 

We will never intentionally report your individual survey responses, except as described below.

 

Your survey responses may be collected, stored, or processed by our affiliated companies or non-affiliated service providers, both within and outside Ireland. They are contractually bound to keep any information they collect and disclose to Us us or we collect and disclose to them confidential and must protect it with security standards and practices that are equivalent to our own.

 

In addition to keeping Your survey responses confidential, we will never sell, share, rent or otherwise intentionally transfer Your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address to our clients, other market research companies, direct marketing companies or anyone else.

 

The only exceptions when we may disclose your personal information or survey responses to third parties are as follows:

 

You request or consent to sharing Your identifying information and individual responses with the third parties for a specified purpose.

In accordance with the ESOMAR guidelines, we provide Your responses to a third party who is contractually bound to keep the information disclosed confidential and use it only for research or statistical purposes.

In the rare but possible circumstance that the information is subject to disclosure pursuant to judicial or other government subpoenas, warrants, orders or for similar legal or regulatory requirements.

Retention of Your Personal Data

Your Personal Data may be transferred to the United States where our survey platforms QuestionPro is headquartered. When we transfer your Personal Data, we will protect that information as described in this Privacy Policy or as disclosed to you at the time of the collection. In case of personal data transfers outside the EEA through our survey platforms QuestionPro, we have carried out an assessment to ensure an adequate protection for personal data relating to EU citizens. In such cases, we will use approved controls (e.g., a Data Processing Agreement) to ensure we protect your data privacy to the best of our ability and ensure third parties who may process your data on our behalf meet the highest standards of privacy practices.

 

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Request access to and receive information about the Personal Data we maintain about You, to update and correct inaccuracies in Your Personal Data, to restrict or to object to the processing of Your Personal Data, to have the information anonymized or deleted, as appropriate, or to exercise Your right to data portability to easily transfer information to another company. In addition, You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

 

Withdraw any consent You previously provided regarding the processing of Your Personal Data, at any time and free of charge. We will apply Your preferences going forward and this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before Your consent withdrawal.

 

Those rights may be limited in some circumstances by local law requirements.

 

You can stop all collection of Personal Data and other information by us terminating Your panel subscription at any time. You may use the standard uninstall processes available through Your panellist account on the panel site.

Change to Privacy Notice

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Notice at any time without prior consultation. Any changes to this Privacy Notice will be posted on the Opinions website  so that You are always aware of what Personal Data we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any time we decide to use Personal Data in a manner significantly different from that stated in this Privacy Notice, or otherwise disclosed to You at the time it was collected, we will notify you by e-mail.

 

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
